1923 Conn C Soprano Saxophone in Gold Plate
1923 Conn C Soprano Saxophone in Gold Plate
Here is a Conn C soprano sax in original gold plate and in playing condition. Pads are fairly recent and all are doing the job.
This horn just had a setup by a skilled tech and its playing with a powerful and rich tone. These play a bit more resistant than Bb sops but you can drive them with more power and really wail on them. In somes its a better soloists horn.
The gold plate is faded but intact. It has the ornate engraving and green lined original case that were standard with gold plated horns.
The 117xxx serial number puts it at 1923 and its a spry 103 year old.
Case is in good shape, functional and no musty odors.
The previous owner got a Pillinger mouthpiece made specifically for a C soprano. Pillinger is probably the #1 expert in the world at producing unusual and rare mouthpieces and it plays great. I tried it with several ligatures and one Rovner in particular suited it best so I'll include that and a few brand new reeds so its fully ready to use on arrival.
Original case is clean and in great shape for its age. No musty odors.
