1921 Conn New Wonder I tenor sax
Original gold plate
This horn features a very lovely and rare engraving with two young music students taking a break from their studies, or something like that...
The horn is playing top to bottom as you can hear. It was recently serviced by my tech and while the pads are not new they are functional and the horn is playing at a gig ready level.
Its been well cared for with no dents or damage, some finish wear that I would attribute to acid bleed or something similar.
The neck is not the original but it is a Conn. This neck was sourced from Conn by the great sax expert Bob Ackerman who revitalized the vintage horn market in the pre Internet days. He got many of these necks and had the taper at the tip modified for best response on early Conns and then had them gold plated. It fits the horn perfectly and responds very well.
Enjoy a rare and special horn with one of the most memorable Conn engravings.
